Started to refit my rebuilt PS box on the Tith and finally reinstalled the gas tank on my 97NAS (again) after solving a long standing fuel pump issue that ultimately traced back to a broken C377 connector at the bulkhead and replaced with a Deutsche connector. She fires right up. A good day.

Mocked up some new spotlights on my rack (The Poconos get DARK). Got creative with these + this to make mounts that seem strong and use the brownchurch tabs for additional strength (as I couldn't use them directly with these lights).

FYI these brackets are originally for hanging the walls of a bathroom stall but they work great for mounting without drilling to a brownchurch rack with 70mm square tubing. I've had a few of them up there for over a year with no rust (after cold galvy painting them).

Working with @WreckITFrank to figure out how to get the wires up there now.

Trying to get ready for a two week UK tour (maybe I can find a green lane), then shipping to the US and a cross country drive. Changed the header tank which was getting a bit brittle and replaced it with a nice aluminum one... Starting to change hoses to silicone, but that may take longer than I'd like, and not easy to do in the driveway... May just carry the hoses with me "just in case". I did change the "Y" hoses off the header tank. Still have to change the belt, and I have tie rod ends and a nice stainless Sumo Bar to install. I've had the ends for a while, but couldn't get the old ones off the bar (corrosion), so a new bar was easier...

This was last month, but decided to service the swivel balls.
No, the first pic isn’t after service. That was taken after pulling the stub axle. Perhaps the shop that did the job before forgot to fill? Anyways, all the internal bits were in good shape, surprisingly. No clicks on the CV and very little play/slack. So, kept the CV & balls but swapped all bearings & seals, then filled with 75w90. Just completed a 1500mi trip and no leaks or unusual noise.

Stupid question.. if you turn the knob rapidly, does it register or not really?
Like imagine you're trying to find a house number on a mailbox at night and inorder to see better you just give a quick flick of the knob counter clockwise to mute the radio. Will it register?
Yes it seems to registered quickly. The right knob is springs back

I’ve got a giant list of projects I need to do on my 110, biggest being a complete rewire after a small electrical meltdown. I decided to start today off with an easy win.

I swapped out my Salisbury diff cover with one from a front Dana 60. It’s about 2mm thicker, from memory. This should definitely be adequate protection for the rear without the jeepish look of an ARB rear diff cover.

I had installed a Detroit locker last year, but didn’t replace the drain plug with the later D2 type that features a magnet to catch any metal debris.

Know the cause?
Hard to say as I haven’t disassembled it yet. There are quite a few aftermarket accessories installed, but the vehicle also had work done by a shop in Florida (mostly poorly done). The circuit for gauge illumination is the wire that melted while I was in Colorado at the start of a trip. Ended up driving it back to VA after that.

I also installed some new pan hard rod bushings and corrected the bolt that was installed backwards and hitting the axle housing

Prepping for next weekend up in Waterville, I haven't done many miles in mine recently. It will get a workout both on road and off working getting the Winter Romp site improvements.

This coming weekend is the first of five consecutive weekends we're having to prepare for next year's event. We also have a bunch of participants in a Canadian back wood event (Pierre Gauthier) coming. Canadian back woods are off limits due to the fires up there.

All welcome especially with shovels, chain saws and tools to build a shed for firewood.
