I've got liftup handles with some homemade catch. I was hoping to find something less dangerous, but looks like I'm still on the hook

Installed a new and improved switch for the Hella work light. I wanted something that would be less likely to get turned on (or left on) inadvertently. I think this will work ;)

Not a home-made catch - that is the early type catch for the lift handle doors

You may want to look to replace with the later lift handle catch that won't fly open on it's own...

I will do a write up later but I started assembling my rear seats.

But I am happy to report that the springs needed that are NLA have a near perfect match at McMaster-Carr in stainless.

Have to bend the loops to make hooks but other than that they look perfect.

Old ones pictured.

When in the on position does the red cover stay up or is it unable to be pushed down so that you know they are still on? Always liked those swtiches.

if the cover is closed, the switch toggle is held in the down position (which is off, in this case). Opening the cover allows the switch to be moved. The cover stays up on its own until I'm ready to turn off the work light. Pressing down on the open cover causes it to snap shut and forces the toggle into the off position. It's quick and positive.

I found the NOS mil-spec switch and cover on eBay.

Swapped out my t-stat for a cooler version and replaced my fuel sender. I also cleaned out the tank while it was out. My buddy Squatch helped me out today.

Tough to do work with an infant on my chest so I gave my wife a list and a box of tools.

Rear seats removed
Front Bumper, brush guard, and winch removed
5-bar aluminum trim removed (sides and rear door)
Rear door bar removed for painting
Unknown rear mount removed from above the door.

We also unpacked the YRM order. Some parts went into storage along with the Cooper Discover ST Maxx tires. Not bad for only 4 hours of work. Next time We home to pickup the frame, new rims, and bushings to swap the axles over.

Finally got a chance to replace the AC condenser fan. Unplugged the old one last year, it ran constantly instead of going off when the AC was shut off. Bearing in the motor squeaked constantly.... so nice to hear the new one whirring away quietly on a hot day.
