Hi All,

Wanted to give you a heads-up on a change we made to post editing. All posts now have a 30 minute time limit for editing. This is to keep us all honest, especially in for-sale ads. If you need to change your post after 30 minutes, you're going to have to do a follow-up post instead.

One more thing. I just bumped everybody's maximum PM count to 3000. Why the fuck do boards limit people to like 50 or 200 PMs? That shit has always cracked me up. It's not 1998 anymore. Storage costs fucking nothing. If we run out of storage because you guys got 3000 PMs and never cleaned them up, I'll buy more.

If there's any other stupid stuff that Defender Source or ExPo or DiscoWeb do that doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll fix it.

I want this place to be the SMA Dailey of internet forums, if anybody gets the reference.

I think Facebook has the "edited" marker that you click and can see all the edit history. Does vBulletin offer that? FS posts specifically get annoying when they get several posts long and people don't read the follow comments. Months go by and people PM about parts you sold the day after the thread was started.

Maybe a changeable symbol to show the item is sold on the original thread title?

I was thinking about that. Or some kind of marked-as-sold button that puts a big, bright message down by the reply box. I'll look around and see if there's a vB mod for that.

Chris, trying to post a new thread and get this error about max characters: "The text that you have entered is too long (18235 characters). Please shorten it to 10000 characters long"

Word says I only have 408 characters with spaces.

@ChrisSnell - Can we get a dedicated LS swap section? It will be good for the community and it will be good for membership. It is sorry that all knowledge of LS swap is consolidated into 1 insanely long unreadable thread.

Hmmmm....maybe? Is there a reason why this can't just live in individual threads in the Defender section? Are these swaps that popular? Are they being done in Discos, too?

What kind of threads would live here? If it's just 9 or 10 threads, I don't think it's worth it.

I think it would make more sense as a how to. Of course, someone would have to be willing to put it together. But yeah, the big LS thread on the other forum is impenetrable.

That one thread has 1616 posts and 253k views. The swap is pretty popular and I think will be getting more and more popular. I think this swap will draw in new Defender owners. I think this is an engine swap that adds value to the truck. I think it deserves its own section because there are a lot of nuances to it that are different from general technical issues. It is adding a high performance aspect to these trucks.

If someone wants to do a full write-up/HOWTO on the LS conversion, that would be awesome. I'm working on a special reward for people who write HOWTOs of exceptional quality. Stay tuned.

The separate sub forum would really add something unique to this site IMO, people are starting to do them in Discos and RRCs also.

Not sure about the separate section but i would love to build a hicap with LS and otherwise stock appearance. Sleeper. Anyone know of a hicap for sale?
