It's fishy...

Not a Puma tub (it's not stepped in the rear). Rear seats look Exmoor, rear seatbelt are in the wrong location for a Puma as well.

Bulkhead isn't Puma either, it's got vent flaps. Only reason it's got the Disco transmission//transfer case is so that the R380 shifter sits back far enough from the dash to operate.

Have to wonder why if you are going to go to this expense, especially with paint, why not fill the dents in the front right fender? It's about 15 minutes of additional work.

Scott your wrong it is a puma bulkhead with stuck on flaps, if you blow the picture up you can see this. It does not have the flap mounts.

Also the rear tub must be td5 as it has the wrong fuel tank location.

The guy who is selling is a Dealer who specializes in classic Porches and has been doing land rovers for a few years.

I have spoken to him on the phone in the past, he mentioned when it came to importing trucks it wasn't the letter of the law, but who you know! Seems to me he is bringing irregular vehicles and gets away with it. Could be a budding Dr Aaron!

Holy crap! You're right! So he glued the flaps on?? Also noticed he actually painted the windscreen spray nozzle! I think that's just plain lazy (not to mention drips of paint on the mud flap)

I guess, at this point, the only thing that hasn't been said is "WHY?" and at $47,000!!

It amazes me to no end how much glitter some turds get rolled in.

on reflection, it has had some money spent on it, the landy glass sides are not cheap, KBX front, LED head lights and sides, the interior alone would have been at least ?1000, a 90 puma dressed bulkhead is ?1000, but why if you rebody a vehicle in the USA would you not convert it to LHD and add value beats me? The puma wings are ?500 each here. Id guess in total ?5-6k in parts and ?5k for the donor 90, ?3k in paint, if it has had a galv chassis swap then ?4k for the swap, and if it has 3 puma doors allow ?1800.
so near ?20k in buts about $24k USD, so he needs to make a profit.

Of course if it wasn't all done in the usa then its a different story!
? = pound sign, this site doesn't recognize it.

SP 4x4 are aftermarket doors made by SP, they are not from the Land Rover factory. I have no ideal about rovers north, but i suspect these are the SP doors.

it also depends on your definition of Galvanizing, most people associate this a Zinc dipped, that is not what I saw when I visited the factory last year.

Both links I posted are factory, genuine parts. I assume that since they are all steel now, they are probably zinc electroplated, that's the most common cheap protection that most new steel parts have.

When I wnt to the factory we asked them if the new steel doors were galvanized, they said NO, it was a 7 step treatment process before paint
Same process used on all the rest of the land rover range.

Just for education :

Not all PUMA tubs are stepped, only 90 stationwagons and 110 stationwagons were stepped. All soft top and commercial hardtops had the std Td5 innerwings.

I have 4 brand new and complete 2015 New Take Off bodies and not one of them have the stepped rear tub.

Even so, I doubt this tub is from a Puma. Positioning of the rear seatbelts and quarter glass trim appear to be older Td5 style.

When's that 6 door truck for coming to town??

I happen to have stumble across the facebook page for the "dealership" or "custom defender builder" as he calls himself. There was an 85 110 with 300Tdi and Disco auto trans up for sale. He mentioned he had a bad LT77 installed in the UK and had the auto trans shipped separately. There was another question about the 300Tdi that he didn't want to publicly answer.

There were a few other things that I saw that really shine a light on this person's character. I won't make a judgement on this particular vehicle, but I will say the person seems to be more interested in finding ways to skirt the law, in multiple areas.

I saw that. Best judgement based on the seller's posts is to stay well away.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
