What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Installed the rear LED strip sold by MudUK on the LR90. Had the LED housing painted to match the roof.

Shame you’re going to ruin your Defender with wheels that are too wide.
haha, when i chat with my non LR offroad friends and mention that someone is getting harassed for 6.5" wheels and 8.25" tires being too wide :ROFLMAO: . tall and skinny FTW.

same friends that just informed me that 44's are the new 40's. And no one lifts too high anymore, they just build in the correct "drop"...

No matter how heavy the rims are, I still like them. I am running the ANR4583's (so also super heavy). I just wish I had a little better back spacing for turning radius. I've thought about spacers, but some folks swear to not run them... The 110 will never have great turning radius, but I do wish for a little more...

@WreckITFrank dropped off the 110 with @Angus in chase in the RRS yesterday.

My neighbor, who is a rover person (had a D1 has an LR3) who builds custom Porsches (check him out on Instagram @the_r_institute ) texted me and asked if he could see it. I was swapping the front doors for a nice set of NAS 110 fronts I had. We ended up getting them swapped successfully and reglued the door seats.

BTW, if you need to do doors, buy the Wera PZ4 chiseldriver. I can’t say enough about these screwdrivers. Life changing does not cover it. The PZ4 is like $25 but worth every penny and the set with slotted, PH1-3, PZ1-3 T20, T25 is like $65-85 if you shop right. Add a T30 for the updated hinge bolts with the PZ4 and you are golden.

I sawzalled off the added bar behind the front seats, sawzalled off a random stud, fitted the license plate, put on some old badger seat covers, put in a NAS heavy duty rear mat, filled her with washer fluid, removed an old CB radio, poked at some rust holes and just futzed around. I am going to take off the steps and finish removing the lower door seals today (she has the riveted to the T-pieces stupid kind).

I usually hit the door bolts with a pozidriv #4 bit on a 3/8” impact. The bolts are super soft and drill out easily if they spin

Between last night and lunch today I installed front floor mats (the date on them was 2008, new in box, I hoard ….) ordered some M10 X 150mm bolts for some front recovery points jate rings I think, I had a pair sitting around, fixed the middle row seats, popped some plugs in the random holes, installed the rearmost window trims, and removed the side steps and front mud flaps. I also topped up the sals and blew out the breather.

If you can come get them near philly I will make you a deal on the steps. I am next going to try to pull the tow hitch but that looks hard. I also got some howes diesel additive. Only thing I could find reasonable on prime. Is it ok?

I pulled the tow hitch and rear step. Did not break a single bolt took me under an hour of actual work (people need to not email me work email after midnight so all in a bit longer). All hand tools. I do love my tools. If you don’t have lady foot prybars I suggest getting some I have a mayhew set. Note I used my Gedore red 172 piece set. Super happy with that and very good price even at full price of $145. I will buy more of them when they go on sale and put one in every vehicle. Also some Stahlwille wrenches and the harbor freight breaker bar.

Pic of new mats and bulkhead repair kit (white gorilla tape like Briggs hehe).

Red truck y-pipe is warped so no love on fixing the exhaust leak.

Put new middle doors on. And yes, I should get new hinges, but I can touch them up and I did not want to pull door panels and replace clips etc. (anyone have a low cost alternative for those clips?). Took 20min a side with my secret weapon from harbor freight. Gave her a bath (and the jag too and I used the turtle wax ceramic spray project farm said was good on the jag). Both need a polish. Jag is happy to be back in the garage now the white truck is out.

Pic of new stereo set up too. Works good enough for me and at $22 I can’t complain. Just need to turn it on with the button (it shuts off automatically after ten minutes). Finally, install the bottom rear hinge new Frank threw in with the truck. Other two were already replaced (me I would have just done rebuild kits). All doors shut well now.

Howie’s diesel treat is good.

now that you’re a big shot, how about some lights in the garage?

No power in the garage ever! I like the dark. :). And I have all manner of battery powered lights and such. The new Dewalt 20v LED light I got on prime day for $30 is excellent. And I use my streamlight microstream rechargeable lights as headlamps on my hat.

New injection pump, timing belt, front cover(damn those fan bearings), and new upgraded intercooler installed. Hoping to get the 1534s installed before the Vineyard event.
