Being retired and living on 18 acre farm in Rural SW PA not much change in life actually. Skiing closed early at local area and wing night has ceased. As long as we can get people and dog food, gas, beer, propane, and electric life will continue pretty normally. Rover getting p/u today for trip up to VT. Hope all works out for fellow members.

Wife's IT dept shipped her an additional (!) laptop that is set up for all the fancy IT secure systems her office requires. She was about to throw it across the room a few minutes ago. She has zero patience for tech especially when it interrupts conference calls for a reboot.

One of their systems is Skype. I honestly didn't know it still existed...... Been using Got to meeting/Whatsapp/FT for Client communications (insurance agent).

I wish her the best of luck. I'm on the other side of that as my job is End User Technology Ops Manager. Skype should really be teams at this point but I do applaud them for having a laptop to send out. Our supply channels are dry and healthcare now gets full priority on laptops and headsets.

@FlyersFan76 I think Jersey is already on that train, as i believe they even have curfew. Good thing Neil is a one man band!

Youngest son just sent me a Washington Post link saying Treasury stated this morning that the 15-April filing date will be extended to 15-July.

Good thing as in PA accountant office are not life essential. Kind of hard to file your taxes (some not all) if your accountant isn't working or at least can't finish on time because of disruptions.

Here's our full list.

She had asked for it a couple of weeks ago to ensure she had coverage above and beyond email while we were on our aborted trip to Spain. We were due to leave two days ago....A nice little Lenovo thinkpad X1.

I wish I could be at home practicing social distancing, but I'm currently on my ship "USNS Mercy" trying to get her ready for deployment to who the hell knows where? I feel like we are in a custody battle between parents on whose house I get to spend the summer at.

Back in hometown MA now and glad to see the food stores stocked again around me (except for TP & chicken breasts) which seem to be the real survival items to have.

Starting up the painting season soon & optimistic this will take its course, in time. There is no shortage of construction in my area and I observe all the usual plumber/elec./framers/contractors hard at work. A new major 15mm+ public safety building is underway in town and it's motoring along.

I am seeing how this affects many in different locations & ways from a stress level point of view. We have chosen to balance the amount of daily news we digest and insert a good part of positive in our daily activities at home.

Stay safe, keep calm and rover on.

Heard this morning on the news from a commander (maybe?) that Mercy might go to Los Angeles. Comfort is destined for New York.

Good luck. Stay safe.

I’m a critical care/trauma surgeon in New Orleans. If you’re not mandated by your local government to stay home, stay home anyway. You don’t want to look back and wish you hadn’t gone out for that last beer while some dude wearing a bandana is preparing to intubate you in the ICU.

My company (industrial construction) has been doing everything possible to keep the doors open and keep people working but the trickle down is compounding hourly. Most likely we will have to shut down operations by this time next week.

I was wondering about you guys. Keep up the good work.

I had heard that you were deploying to New York or San Fran., but that was just a media story, I think.

Josh,

Good luck to you, brother. Hope things work okay. I heard that Mercy would be used for non-COVID patients - which doesn't make it any less difficult or more protected.

In Southeast PA where the my county has the highest concentration of cases for now. Governor just shut down the state, finally. As it was business as usual for too many here around town. I'm hoping they have the resources to enforce but don't need to.

Working from home mostly, which my job is to get the rest of the company to work from home. So no rover time unfortunately.

Stay safe everyone, please stay in as much as possible.
Sadly, around here the few times I've had to go out (~20 min from you) you would barely think there are these restrictions (other than shelves for certain things being empty... ketchup?). I drove past a park that looked like there was a block party going on 🤦‍♂️ with the amount of people in VERY close quarters.

Yeah we could go to New York, but would take some time to go through the Panama Canal and come back up. Right now they want to keep us on the west coast. Still not sure where we will be going till we get underway.

Hey Peter! Thank you we are going to need it. Yeah the ship is really not meant to take on a lot of infectious disease patients, it is more for mass casualties in a war time event. All it is going to take is one crew member or one patient to be positive and now we will have the USNS Wuhan. Don't really agree with us going, but glad to be a part of helping those in need.

Thanks again and take care brother!!

See you when I get back.

I shut the lights in the shop earlier this week. Enjoying time with my 10 week old boy and help my other half with her hair salon. We closed her shop up last weekend and now trying to figure out next steps and also how to make sure her employees are taken care of. Food industry up this way is taking a hit but becoming creative with curbside & takeaway. Can get just about all local breweries to deliver to your door now 🍻

My dealership is shut down until April 19th right now. We're still being paid, so I'm happy to have the time off. We've got our two Engel fridges running (one as a fridge and one as a freezer). My plan is to do some projects on the truck, and hang out with my 10 week old baby.

Business as usual for me(FD), along with more protocols for EMS calls. Good luck to everyone and stay safe!

I noticed the same thing today. Ordered a part online, went to pick it up, had to wait a half hour in the car and noticed that the roads were just as busy as ever, and more people out on the streets than normal.... I was anxious to stay away from people and just get back home.
