What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

A more evilfij hack way of doing this is JB weld. But since I went with the ice cube/hand burner aluminium one I don’t concern myself with the plastic knobs anymore.

I did briefly think of wrapping the aluminium one in leather, but I can’t sew (given the prices of defenders these days I am surprised someone does not make a leather wrapped aluminium one).
I friggin love my knob, lol. Found it at a street fair in Boulder CO, of an Austrian seed pod called Banksia. Always pleasant to touch, hot or cold. Visually interesting, tactually intriguing.
Got it around 2001.

Made a start installing my Ministry of Defenders AC kit to my 1993 200tdi 90. Things noticed so far, one of the 10mm crank pulley bolts was pre-rounded and my radiator is literally falling apart! Rad and Intercooler on order and thinking cap well and truly on for fixing the round bolt situation this weekend.

The Rover Rule of Three is alive and well.

Start out with one project, end up with three.

long term back ordered 300tdi exhausts (@Z.G ) forced me go with a quick side-exit exhaust. The old one broke off aft of the muffler and I was getting too many fumes in the cabin. The good news is now the muffler is gone and it not only sounds better, I think I unlocked a couple more ponies….

I finally split a coolant tank on my Tdi, so I replaced it with an Allisport that I luckily had on hand. The old one was one of the translucent ones that is an improvement over the black plastic but it was 20 years old. With the amount of weeping all around the seam, I’m surprised it didn’t split.

I’m thinking the alloy one won’t split…

Still working on the heated seats. Have the wires run, but hit quiet hours before I could connect to power. I think I may have run out of wire connectors, so I might as well order some before I continue.
That said, I think I could have made it to power if I could have removed the lower dash. How in the pluperfect hell do You get the lower dash off? I removed every screw I saw, but that thing may has well been glued on. What’s the secret?

sorted out long overdue shitty taillight wiring from back when the frame resto was done. One butt connector literally fell apart in my grasp. The twist on wire connector was a dandy idea to terminate 5 negative wires at once. Will figure out best practice approach for those. Want something done right, do it yourself comes to mind.

And I'll add..bending 25yr old harness wires directly upon itself and taping it up rather than making a loop compromised one wire beneath the sheething..I found that out when straightening the wire..it just cracked open.

37s on Trail Ready beadlocks. Small upgrade over the 29s...

Love the looks! Even at 37" they are probably lighter than the Wolf/35" SSR's I have.

Side question - those look like leaf springs on the rear do you have a Series frame and Defender body or is something else going on?

I finally cut my Tuffy Box. I still have to pretty it up a bit but I think the speaker is better there than resting below the dash. I might try to make a panel for the front for security so I do not have to remove it all of the time.

Finally installed a wheel carrier, but now it looks like i will be needing a new rear doors t some point. Broken right through welds and repair patches. I guess 7 years of traveling and offroading did a number on the door o_O
