Really fun seeing all the vehicles people have had. I regret selling my 2004 Ranger and going on the “I graduated and have a job new car binge“. I tell all my new engineers not to do that. Drive that jalopy from college for at least 3 years and then get a new car.
Here is my list:
1988 Ford Ranger 2wd*
1985 Ford Bronco II 4x4*
1986 Ford Bronco II for parts to do a 2.9L EFI swap in the 1985*
1988 Ford Bronco II for v8 swap parts that never happened*
2004 Ford Ranger Edge 4x4 (first new car)*
1979 GMC suburban small block 400 4x4 (short lived flip)*
1987 Ford F-250 (short lived flip)*
2001 Ford F-250 (short lived flip)*
2005 Ford Focus (2nd new vehicle)* - thought I wanted mpg
2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (3rd new vehicle)* - realized mpg was overrated and wanted power
Moved to NZ
1999 Land Rover Discovery*
Back to USA
2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins*
1994 Land Rover Defender 90 (still have)
2007 Land Rover LR3 (still have)
2017 Ram 1500 ecodiesel (4th new vehicle, still have)
* indicates sold
After a terrible experience with my D1 in NZ my wife couldn’t believe I went and got the 90 shortly after we moved back and then the LR3 a little after that. The LR3 has been awesome and very reliable. And funny the 90 is technically the longest owned vehicles for me but the lowest use and availability haha.
