Popular thread on other forums. I think it offers insight into someones formative automotive journey and how one comes to own Defenders.
I started with Land Rovers in the mid 1970's when I talked my dad into buying a 1971 2a 88 for me to drive into town to attend the prep school he'd decided I had to go to. The 2a meant my parents wouldnt have to drive my brother and I the 25 miles ea way to and from the school ea day. This list doesnt include the stuff I put my two ex wives and children into.

This list starts in 1977 and runs to present. So my list goes like this:

500cc two stroke must have been a hoot. My only bikes have been and BMW r65 and an 02 Fatboy.

Yap it was very quick. It had one problem, it had a type of oil injection based on throttle position so under a heavy load it would over oil and smoke like crazy. Got pulled over by the po-po once for excessive smoke while riding double with my wife up a long hill.

I would like to own another FZJ80, and maybe a G-Wagen, or a FJ40, or a CJ8 Scrambler, or a 109" Series 2a, or a Series 1 88" in RAF Blue, and perhaps maybe one day, another Defender.
