Bring a Trailer Defender Auction Criticism

I think it’s possible to post negative comments as long as you post specifics that meet their guidelines. Basically say what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix it. I figure folks can also add approximate costs to fix issues. For example you could ask a question like, “how much does it cost for a shop to replace the weird Turkish pickup bed with a new take off Hi-Cap bed that costs $2k used and probably $5k new?” Or “What method of paint application was used on the paint job and do you have any close up shots of typical overspray areas?”

The problem is the trolls and fanboys can flag comments as not constructive, but if you’re within their guidelines there’s no reason for them to take it down.

Wagonboytd's comments are much like Cowboy's on the other site. Worthless dribble, ass kissing and reek of a lonely guy with no friends other than his "internet friends".

Well Im not going to dox the guy, but I found out his name based on his recent IG post. I'd love to send him an email that just reads,

I still think that money laundering is the center of this Turkish defender scam. It just doesn’t add up, and it doesn’t help that fan-boys who fancy themselves as experts keep knob polishing. BaT censors comments that are remotely critical.

Sure wish I had stocked-up on 130 hi-cap beds for all the people who will be looking for one to replace the stupid locally manufactured square box.

Should be easy to detect money laundering. Call them up and act serious about buying it. If they work with you, it's probably not money laundering. I don't think they would waste their inventory on actual clean money.

Also, what if it is money laundering? Where are they disposing of the trucks after they wash the cash? And won't their bank get suspicious?

It’s kinda a lot of effort for money laundering, and it’s not like I’m an FBI guy or someone who actually knows this stuff. I would think the objects of value or services traded would be much less tangible and the quantities much larger to make this a worthwhile criminal enterprise. I’m just racking my brain to think why there would be this many fools to be parted with their money. If this is all above board then everyone trying to sell a truck should cover it with Chinese knock-off Kahn parts.

I’m still beyond baffled.

The guy that bought my truck didn't even want to talk to me. Never spoke to me on phone once or asked me any questions via email. Sent check, truck was shipped/delivered, and never heard from again. He has all my contact info. It was sold via Brooklyn Coachworks but the guy still had all my contact info etc. I thought it was so weird. He got a good truck, but still weird to buy a modded enthusiasts vehicle and not have any follow ups or anything. It wasn't a cheap purchase either (at least to me).

The guy I bought my truck from in Italy years ago still sends me questions asking about it... yet the guy that paid $$$ for it, nothing.

The comments from known knowledgeable members from these forums get flagged, deleted, etc. from that site when the comments are totally valid. It is almost comical to be honest.

We've been having a lot of insider conversation about BaT amongst us in the industry. I'm convinced it's jumped the shark. Brought revolution to the internet car market, but now has become the bottom of the barrel, catch-all marketplace. Think, the Barrett Jackson auction of online. Other boutique auction platforms are popping up which exhibit actual scrutiny of their offerings; see PCARMARKET or Auctomobile.

BaT, especially since their acquisition earlier this year, has been taking every bad piece of inventory they can get at $99 and a chance to make 5%. No restraint.

Yesterday an 88 had the bid go from $250 to $25k by someone who wants to repaint it to match their beach. I'm speechless.

It's clowns like "irscott11" that perpetuate this nonsense. "land rover expert wagonboy"

For all we know irscott11 is WAGONBOYTD

Look at WAGONBOYTD bid history, he just shill bids on things, never any amount that could ever win the auction. And when you bid on BAT they hold money on your CC or whatever, so to do that over and over makes no sense. For all we know he works for BAT.
