Busted out all the tools, and, without trying too hard to toot my own horn, completed a minor project, lol. Screwed on my SDO side turbo vent 😜

I will say I also dropped my oil pan on the R2.8 since I have put on a couple thousand miles to inspect the oil and fragments on that new engine. I have to say, it was the cleanest new-build or rebuilt that I have ever inspected--virtually no fragments or sparkly bits. Changed oil (all 9 qts) and the filter. But without pics, did it really happen? I do have this one pic confirming the oil pan gasket on the METAL pan version, since that is a very tricky bit to find (spoiler: the oil pan gasket is Cummins 5254612).

Very good news to hear that it is very clean.

BTW - Cummins has a 14% sale going on for the week LOVE2024 code if you need another gasket.

In the final stretch of wiring. I got the battery installed today. Previously there was a dual battery system, but I like when my car starts every time, so I ditched that and installed a group 31 Odyssey battery

In the passenger storage box there were already two Blue Sea fuse boxes which I decided to leave in place and reuse. I ran a 4ga wire from the battery to a bus bar, then split that off with two 6ga wires. One powers up a fuse box for constant power. The second one powers up a TE high amperage relay and then a second fuse box. I’m waiting on some more eyelets to wrap up this portion of the wiring, but the hard part is done.

Last task for the day was to charge the ac system.

@jymmiejamz the wiring brings a tear to my eye, great work. im running that same BMW relay for my switched/aux, should be done wiring it up today in fact. I put a large distribution point in the batt box for fusing and splitting out the aux feeds. Can you show more of the compressor setup?

Outside of it being bolted in place, there’s not much to show. I hastily installed it before trip so I need to make a switch bracket.

Getting ready for Winter Romp. All looks good. Boston is reportedly getting it’s very late first snowfall of the year on Tuesday.
