I made it fit. But I need a shovel with less of an angle, does anyone know who made the shovel for camel trophy circa 1988-1991? It has a black metal d handle and black spade (PS the one I got from Zack is excellent and very well made, I just want the one with the flatter profile).
I Love the shovel. I have done the same myself and it did take a bit of fettling to get just right. I could suggest to mount it a bit more forward on the wingtop. I did that to mine (the green one) to get the profile down and to get the handle to fit in the right place. I could also suggest staining and sealing the handle. Mine started to get a bit manky out in the elements. I love it though!

I just don’t need the shovel on my truck in the wilds of suburbia. I am going to tung oil it though and can throw it on when I put chains in the truck (aka probably never). Haha. I will probably get drunk and order the one from the UK to compare them. My hobby is buying stuff online (or from Zack).

Was going to install a rear folding step, but two broken bolts later…..

evilfij, I've got these I'll sell. I didn't like the fact that they don't come with any boot to keep the muck out (like on an H4) but I kept them too long to return.

They are from vintageheadlights.com.

I'll let 'em go for $320.00 shipped.

Shovel does not fit (but the shovel is excellent!). I sort of want to cut the t-handle part off so it will fit but the shovel is too nice. Hmmm.

Think this is the shovel you need. Length is probably accurate.

Stefano, thanks, but I will pass. I am going to save my pennies for the ones rover uses.

The bulldog shovel looks nice, but it has the same issue as the Carter which is the angle is too much I need a flatter shovel like the other English one posted above.

Got a little antsy waiting for the tailgate and body tie downs to come back from paint... perhaps nothing more enjoyable than unpacking a proper karkeeeee canvas tilt as they pronounce it. Takes me back to my teenage years. But I have to be more patient now than I was then... by keeping it out of the rain until I can batten down the hatches and let it stay snug for 30 days to shrink correctly. As expected, the roll cage mounted sound bar audio quality is excellent with the canvas fitted - and the last of the Ram mounts arrived, so I can Avenza map my way around off the grid. The base on the lower dash covers up existing holes from some kind of device the utility company had mounted... always cringe at drilling unnecessary/extraneous holes in a Land Rover.

Also fitted the sill protectors and am sourcing correct gauge wires for the Husky. Reinstalled one of two rear bench seats - awaiting the rubber do-hickies from RN for the back of the other to keep it from rattling. Speaking of rattling... gotta go add another coat of galvanized paint to the tailgate eye latches, as those arrived painted black.

Can you share some more info on your nav setup? What tablet and holder are you using?

It's a 3rd gen 11" ipad pro from the office and I bought the E-Z Roll'r and long arm mount from Amazon, which came with the ball-ends. Very solid.

I was all excited to find Rustoleum 'galvanizing.' Totally disappointed in the result... the finish resembles just plain grey primer. Will try hammer finish or plain silver to get somewhat close in color match to the new corner cappings. Wasteful to throw away the pair of tailgate eye I already have, even though I'll have almost as much into paint as the RN stainless ones cost.

The cold galvanizing compound is excellent at rust prevention, especially once top coated, but it’s not a pretty finish and does not resemble galvanizing. Since you have a white truck, why not get a spray can of alpine white?

Because the eyes are a wear spot against the anti-luce catches and were originally galvanized. When a friend with a restoration ship does a run over winter, I'll ask him to throw them in... I've got to get over to his place and collect my military rear bumperettes, which were dipped this summer.

Pulled mine out of the garage so I could move around some heavy boxes. Getting closer to paint.

Nice stance! Looks straight, too. Planning a respray in white?

I got to see a 2015 or so Defender 110 in person in Fuji White. Seriously tempted to redo my Alpine in that color as it looks really fresh and current, while not too far from original. I feel that Yulong (the color of my LR4 and now on my '22 110) is a little too 'current' for a real Defender.

Fuji and Alpine are so close I would not bother to change. I have Fuji wheels on my alpine truck and a Fuji tailgate. Can’t really tell much difference. Probably more variability in paint fade than baseline color.

Thanks. And yes planning a white respray. Replaced the bulkhead and painted that before the swap. Should be Alpine white, but who knows. Close at least.

White is a really hard color to match. I’ve got a 130 in the shop that was a complete rebuild and it’s clear the body panels were painted at separate times because it’s all different shades of white

Ron good. :) I cleaned out the garage and made it worse. Haha. I work on gravel anyway. Gets me sunlight. Anyone want to lease a dormobile roof? I have all sorts of new parts and a 110 roof already cut for it to go on. Or if you have a running driving 109 or 110 you want to sell me @WreckITFrank says I can’t remove the cage to put it on the new 110.
