Two deals. The Sunex 3/8 master impact is 20% off ($172) IMHO this is the one to get as it has SAE and metric swivels.

Also, the Heuer 120 vise with replaceable jaws is $223 (29% off UK price and about 40% less than discounted Amazon US price). It’s a smaller vise but it is indestructible (I have the 160 and 180 models). Short of multi-thousand dollar wilton USA vises it’s the best you can get (and is probably stronger than the wiltons even though it is lighter because it is a forged steel vise).

Love it in concept, but yeah, vis is way too small.
The Heuer 160 is $321 minus 10% VAT plus $164 shipping on Amazon Germany. The one with replaceable jaws is $393 minus 10% plus $172 shipping though. You could do what I do and add more tools to get the shipping per item down. You can’t order the 180 model because it is like 1lb over what DHL will ship …. Lol.

older news but I would grab a few pairs while you can:

Better prices than amazon:

I actually bought one of the Malco Eagle Grip Locking Pliers after reading the Toolguyd article linked above, which hyped them up. They’re nice pliers with a nice finish but not nearly enough nicer than my other mid-grade lockers (e.g. Milwaukee, Irwin, which I presume were made in Taiwan) to be worth the non-trivial price difference—most specifically, they are rather loose when not locked (probably inherent in the design).

Still, too bad about the Malco factory closing down.

I cranked down on the 5/16 allen with a 3/8 breaker bar on a starter bolt and it did not damage the teeth. YMMY but that’s worth the $45. New irwin are sort of crap. Don’t own the Milwaukee. I believe both are China not Taiwan.

I did buy two Amazon 10in locking pliers for $9,50 total for vehicle kits.

Oh the Malco's are great for the "buy-once-last-for-a-lifetime" approach, which I completely respect (I think that they were the Snap-On supplier)--but that is also budget-dependent (and my Land Rovers by themselves pretty much blow my discretionary budget).

The current Milwaukee locker pliers have a great feature of a cranking "loop" on the end which you can tighten with a screwdriver:

MW has upped their game in hand-tools in recent years; from what I have read, most of their tools are now cast in Taiwan, with the exception of their newest screwdrivers and linesmans pliers/cutters, which as of earlier this year are made in the US:

If you haven't used Temu yet it may be worth a look. First time users get a deal like this Baofeng radio below for $2.99. Now, having said this..there's a lot of imported crap to be had..but there's also low cost deals on those disposable items that you'd be paying way too much anywhere else..like utility belts, clamps, hinges, some carpentry items/tools, clothing etc. Pick and choose items with discretion.

I usually buy a few items and if they're quality meets my needs, I buy more. Haven't been burned yet. The regular price for a Baofeng radio here is still a good deal at $25.
