Westinghouse 3600 portable generator at 42% off on Woot! I wanted the dual fuel but that got snapped up.

Even with Amazon Prime Day starting midnight tonight I don't think this deal will be beat.

A little off from what I normally get, but the new 110 (like many land rovers) was Swiss cheese with holes drilled for things and I used up most of my Christmas tree fasteners plugging them up so I went looking for another set. I found this set with some cheap trim tools and some zip tie things with plugs to mount them for the same price as just the fasteners. It came today and it’s fine. If you do things like remove the rear seats etc these plugs are invaluable to fill the holes.

PS everyone should still start by buying the Gedore red 172 piece kit if you want tools.

Hazet 10 piece metric wrench set $85 shipped. This is $15 less than usual (which at $100 is a very good deal) SPC is special price but they are 600N so it’s just a deal on a special price the quality is 100% the same as every other Hazet wrench. I ordered this 10 piece tonight and previously the 16 piece set (got it for $153, now $173, 7mm-24mm) and am adding this set to my primary to go set with the Stahlwille 14 and ratcheting wrenches because I miss having just normal wrenches even though I like the B form (like the Stahlwille 14) better, sometimes you just need a normal wrench. And the 600n are a bit longer than the Stahlwille 13, but not as long as Gedore XL or Hazet XL though (which can be too long. If you want some sockets the Hazet 953HPC is under $200 now. That’s a 1/2 and 1/4 set with bits sockets ratchets. Not as comprehensive as the Gedore red 172 piece, but they have increased the price on that to $192 (still worth it, but not as much of a deal).

I do 90% of the work on rovers with these handful of tools I have put in my to go kit. The Gedore red 172 kit, my wrench roll, the harbor freight 1/2in breaker bar, a little Dewalt 12v impact driver (I got bosch drill bits for it and the 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 adaptors to use with the Gedore red sockets), a few pliers, and a few screwdrivers (with the bits from the Gedore kit dealing with the oddball ones). Anything special I think I will need I toss in my hazet tote with the parts I am installing and some PB blaster and antisieze and some paper towels and I maybe go to the big box once. I keep refining my set up, but if anyone is thinking about starting to work on your truck (or just wants some decent tools to do most things) I can catalog what I have.

BONUS CONTENT: Amazon global has a bunch of deals on Knipex stuff right now (search Knipex, filter Amazon global). Pic of one of my favorites, a 145mm needle nose combination pliers (other handles and not chrome also available). Super handy IME. I picked up a cutters and 150mm cobra pouch set for $45 but that deal was gone as soon as I ordered it.

I would like to see the inventory of what you use in your "to go/repair kit". Perhaps you could start a new thread on the topic

I want to see what @evilfij 's entire tool collection looks like!
If you follow me on Instagram, my two primary boxes have pictures of all the drawers
in my story links. That’s a good start. DM me and I will send my Instagram handle if you don’t already.

Here is a sample …

I will get pics of the “to go” kit and add it to the tools for your Land Rover thread I have somewhere. It’s currently hanging out in a harbor freight 4 drawer roll cart which I drag onto the driveway, but it also fits in a bag.

And here is a bag of pliers screwdrivers and stuff I use for clean vehicles. Needless to say, it has seen minimal use ….

And the top drawer of my tool dresser (I have added more tools since).

And the little pouch that is part of the to go kit I throw in a pocket when I am working.

One left. $35 taking advantage of the exchange rate and Amazon global filter to find deals. Note this has PZ1 and PZ2 (according to the description, check the part number to be sure) these Witte screwdrivers, with grippy stickers which this flavor does not have, are sold rebranded as Matco. Outside of KC Tool, it’s hard to find the PZ Witte in the US. Good screwdrivers, not chisel or HD bolstered etc. so if you get only one set get the big pack Wera chisel drivers with PZ1-3. Anyway, thought someone might like to try them.

Amazon is now letting you buy directly from Amazon Japan free shipping (like Amazon global)

It saves quite a bit of money and you can get cool Japanese tools. You have to click on Amazon Japan and then go to Amazon Japan Storefront and you can search for whatever you want. Nepros, saws, fujiya pliers, engineer pliers etc. also has some good PB Swiss deals and Wera that is not sold in US or Europe.
