I'm running K&N but now I'm starting to feel like there's a reason none of you are...
For me it is availability. I work at the dealer, so Genuine is always available. I've never had an issue with a Genuine filter, so I see no reason to change. I don't like aftermarket parts unless the Genuine part is just ridiculously overpriced ($600 water pump vs $100 for aftermarket).

Their air filters are. They threatened legal action against our dealership when their filters contaminated a customer's mass air flow sensors. They claimed to have tested them and said nothing was wrong with them. This was probably close to a year ago and the customer still has no check engine light after installing two new air filters and mass air flow sensors.
K&N oil filters used to be great. They switched a couple years ago to being made in mexico or korea.
