Curious why you went with the MT82, I didn’t realize it bolted up to the tdi. This is really interesting.
I looked at the MT82 years ago because it had a gate and shifted so much better than the other Land Rover transmissions which have a series of linkages unique to each gear that you need to find and individually select each time making it much harder to get into gear.
The one I drove was in a 2.4 Puma that my son and I picked up for a member here and was impressed by how easy and smooth it shifted.
After further investigation, determined it was too long for both the 4JB1-T and the Iveco 2.8 TDI so I didn't go further mainly because there was no removable transmission belhousing and 1st was a granny gear, so it was really just another 5 speed.
Jim the kit to mate the MT82 behind a old slow shitty 300TDI is available at a reasonable price from M&D engineering.
BTW: Drank the last of the Belgians last weekend and can't thank you enough for everything.
I expect the chevy 250 runs warmer than a Tdi, so you have me beat there
No need to worry, I never was much of a keyboard warrior, so I;ll just focus on my next big out of the box thing and not jump up and pump up because you mentioned the Chevy conversion and the $250 you still owe me.
When are you going to pay that, Richard?
