Looks great. None of the Mt82's here look clean and new like that.
Putting a building up out back ?

Curious why you went with the MT82, I didn’t realize it bolted up to the tdi. This is really interesting.

This one fell off the back of a truck..sort of

Yes, finally building adequate warehouse capacity so we can actually stock as much as we'd like to.

Have you driven a Defender with one yet? It's a fantastic gearbox, shifts really well and the additional gear is nice. It does not bolt up to the 300tdi, but M&D engineering sells a conversion kit.

Yeah, my Puma 110 had the MT82 but it never occurred to me to mate it up with a Tdi. What are you using for a tunnel?

The puma 110 was the first Defender I ever drove, so it sort of spoiled me on them in general. They're just better drivers in a lot of ways.

I'll be using a modified 2 piece puma tunnel. My coworker has the same(2.8 300/mt82) setup in his 110, it's a great driver.

This looks a lot different. Is it sitting any lower now with things in it? That transmission will be fancy in that truck.

Uses the same factory 300tdi crossmember, though requires a couple of adapter brackets(replaces the factory 300tdi gearbox steel mounts) and uses factory 300tdi rubber mounts. Sits at essentially a very similar height

That looks great.
Not so much covered in your next meal, but otherwise fantastic.
Have a feeling someone is going to send me a graph misleading the cooking thermal dynamics of a TDI to post for them.
Then I'll chime in to always have the last work regarding the cooking times of various meal courses and hijack the thread away from the real topic.

I have a skottle attachment being fabricated that'll bolt to the EGR plate, which should provide a nice even heat for my campside meals.

I expect the chevy 250 runs warmer than a Tdi, so you have me beat there

I looked at the MT82 years ago because it had a gate and shifted so much better than the other Land Rover transmissions which have a series of linkages unique to each gear that you need to find and individually select each time making it much harder to get into gear.
The one I drove was in a 2.4 Puma that my son and I picked up for a member here and was impressed by how easy and smooth it shifted.
After further investigation, determined it was too long for both the 4JB1-T and the Iveco 2.8 TDI so I didn't go further mainly because there was no removable transmission belhousing and 1st was a granny gear, so it was really just another 5 speed.

Jim the kit to mate the MT82 behind a old slow shitty 300TDI is available at a reasonable price from M&D engineering.

BTW: Drank the last of the Belgians last weekend and can't thank you enough for everything.

No need to worry, I never was much of a keyboard warrior, so I;ll just focus on my next big out of the box thing and not jump up and pump up because you mentioned the Chevy conversion and the $250 you still owe me.
When are you going to pay that, Richard?

Don‘t hate on my slow shitty 300tdis and I won’t hate on your common-as-grass plebeian Chevy motors!

There are more Belgians in the personal stash, which you are always welcome to come sample!
