I'm no Pretender fan, but he appears to repeatedly parrot vague anecdotal complaints. To revive a dead battery, does the process really require an internet connection? This wasn't explained. Is it the vehicle or the specific diagnostic software that requires it, and why? Regarding the story about the one that had to be dragged into the flatbed, there's a manual release for the parking brake. Maybe they couldn't get to it for some reason, or they didn't know it existed, but again the story was vague. If you're going to tear down a vehicle, and I believe this one deserves it, be precise about it.

If that parking brake is the same POS that's on the LR4, sometimes that "manual release" won't release. After the thousands of dollars that stupid LR4 electric brake has cost, (it's '12 w/218000 miles and on it's 3rd controller) I will not be buying another vehicle with an electric brake.

90% of vehicles have electronic E-brakes. My jag ate a controller.

Which is one reason why my most recent car purchase was an '01 Excursion rather than something newer.

The nanny crap is the #1 reason I won't buy new - I find them offensive, maddening, error prone, and a road to Idiocracy. The most recent loaner car I got (some Lexus thing that looks like 90% of the new cars out there) applied the brakes as I was backing out of a parking spot - nothing close behind me, but a car had passed behind me less than a second before. The displayed warning went away immediately after the brakes were applied. Fortunately, my Home Depot purchase did not include a hammer, as I'm normally not one to hold my anger in....
