How do I add a tach to a 200tdi?

Just noticed another option, RRC5231. 0-6k RPM. Guessing it's for a V8. Apparently made by VDO.

One last question, the injection pump or governer won’t let me rev past 4200rpm while accelerating, correct?

I know you can overrev on a downshift. Amazon has a 2 1/16th diesel 6k tach for $25. I might try that but I need to see about the W terminal on the alternator.

Are we still talking 200tdi? No computer, no governor, I thought. fuel / IP pump limited. Without computer, there is no feedback logic. Just upper limits based on mechanical settings…

Yes. So if I keep it floored does it go beyond 4200rpm or no? I know cummins 5.9, I don’t know this rover stuff.

Pretty sure it depends on fuel flow. There isn’t a feedback to say hey! You’re at 4200!
