How do I add a tach to a 200tdi?

‘W’ output terminal off the alternator and a power wire is all you should need. VDO vision gauge is probably the best bet. Maybe $100? I don’t know how to do anything in the cluster as far as adding the gauge in, but I’m pretty sure it’s basic plug and play with fiddly tiny nuts to hold the gauge in place. Don’t know if that requires separate parts. I hate wiring stuff. Enjoy the theory of it. Hate the actual wiring. Lol

Curious why one is needed? Maybe I drive the wrong way or under the wrong impression, but the way I drive a diesel is a lot different than a V8. I don't rev anywhere near the redline, and it's very obvious when I need another gear.

Cheapest and easiest, just glue this to your dash. Shift when red

I’d like to know how fast the engine is spinning. I generally floor it until it feels like it’s not getting anymore power and then shift. Keep in mind my 110 is heavy. She has the camel trophy cage, dual shocks front and rear, PTO winch on a very heavy bumper, and hundreds of lbs of sound deadening and diamond plate. Funny enough, this and the stock 200tdi with stock exhaust makes her quiet, much quieter than my NAS90 with no interior and a borla.

In all seriousness, the genuine 200Tdi tach is like $500 and I rather not spend that so if anyone has an easy solution or write up I would appreciate it.

I don't know, but you lose too much sweep on a 6k regardless. Would make it even more worthless IMO

Get madman, call it a day.

In miles per hour (or km per hour) what is 4200rpm redline in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th for a stock 200tdi LT77 7.50x16 tires?

Super helpful. I have been shifting way too soon. If you rev her up, you can stay on the turbo in the next gear. If anyone has a genuine Land Rover 5k rpm tach, I am interested.
