I'm trying to get my EGTs down on my 200. It has an uprated Allisport intercooler and a VNT turbo. I can easily get to 1100 on a short pull on the highway and I'm sure I could get to the working limit. The EGT probe is after the turbo - it was like that when I got the car. I realize this isnt the ideal place. By my estimation using a infared thermometer the different before and after the turbo is about 250 degrees.
Any ideas on how to get the EGTs down? So far the only tuning that has been done is just moving the boost pin. The injection pump was recently replaced with a remanufactured unit from Turner.
I have a 3 inch exhaust, but it looks like the shop did 3 inches from about oil pan back. When I asked them they said they couldnt handle doing the downpipe, so obviously that needs to be fixed.
Would fixing that with a full width intercooler be enough? Is there anything else I'm overlooking.
