Hello NAS-ROW community -

Spent a great deal of time doing research here in this community and ultimately made a vehicle purchase back in August of 2023 with the help of @courage-automotive .

Here on the East Coast I had my challenges finding a unit that was in original condition and lacked the rust that plagues some; although you can make repairs I was focused on finding the most original unit I could. Stateside during the summer of 2023 such a vehicle was commanding high prices in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s and they still came with two to three owners which led me down the path of importing my own with help from @courage-automotive

If you are intimidated by importing a vehicle on your own just pause for a moment and reach out to @courage-automotive. They source their vehicles from southern Spain which puts you ahead of any vehicle that is here stateside - think dry, arid climate, salt free roads resulting in mint bulkheads and clean doors! Piers takes his time to source high quality examples, and what he describes is exactly what you're going to receive. We communicated for a couple weeks sharing videos and photos of the vehicle until I was entirely confident. To boot he has solid connections with transport groups in Spain / Gibraltar and seamlessly got the vehicle to port in Belgium without issue delay. He also has a law firm stateside to represent the vehicle as it passes through customs/EPA/Homeland security.

- If you have questions about the process - fire me a message.

Original post from Piers:

I’m 350 miles into my journey with the truck and have no regrets. I’ve spent my time changing all the fluids and the cam belt is next!

Congrats on finding a nice one. Looks like you live in a good area for enjoying it. Did you add the tires and bumper recently?

New England provides a lot of opportunities to use it as it was intended. The tires were added soon after it landed while I was going through the mechanicals before registration. The 205 tires that it came with originally got the job done but we're not going to hold up to my intended travels. The ARB bull bar was stripped and repainted through November - going to need a winch mounting point once we head deeper into the woods.

Good starting point. What are your plans for the interior? Where are you located?
That was was my primary focus. Find the absolute best starting point, un molested & no rust. Throughout my ownership I intend to keep as original as possible - whatever modifications I do make I can undo.

I recently took out the rear seats and added a single NAS style bench seat.

Before you start spending $ on it, get lots if
Miles driven to settle on a plan. I been using mine as a daily year around. Just lots of pressure washing to keep it clean. Fluid film works fine but is ablative and needs to be reapplied a few times a year. The Chinese vevor diesel heaters are less than 200 bucks and will keep you cozy even at 10F. SP for doors,Winchester for R380/ LT230, Gwynn Lewis for all suspension, Brad at Atlantic British for wheel bearing kits/brakes- quick shipping and you’ll get things handled quick.no need for any repair shop BS and markups!

- The miles will go up steadily just not in inclement salty weather. I have two gallons of fluid film in the garage and I've sprayed a dozen or so vehicles over the past 10 years. I spray my truck at least twice a year. Keeps the underside nice and glossy! New England is not nice to these units. Warm water tends to be the devil. It washes off a lot of fluid film.

Next move is to replace the cam belt, tensioner, etc. Soon after I'm going to change the fuel filter water separator.

I've got an exhaust temperature probe and monitor coming in from Australia right now, going to get a baseline for how the engine behaves before I do any tweaks to the injection system.

Yes, that is a great find, looks beautiful.
I would like to contact the seller you used to find an unmolested rust free 110 in that kind of condition from Southern Spain. Can you please share the sellers email and contact info?

Congratulations on your find. I just joined the group so I would have otherwise reached out earlier.

Thank you
