I've read a little bit on the Ineos forum and it looks like the biggest issue someone is having who took delivery are warning beeps from the ADAS system. Hard to say if they'll issue a software update to allow it to stay permanently off because the owner's manual says it's automatically activated with the ignition. I'd be looking for whatever is beeping and unplug it. I guess the alternative is to drive under the speed limit, unless you're able to make the vehicle think you're off-road.

People who can't control their speed safely without this feature are already a hazard on the road.
Inattention and distraction are the cause of more traffic crashes than speeding. This includes drunk driving. I don't care that the authorities blame it on speeding. They're lying.
If slower is better, then follow their logic and and make driving perfectly safe by parking all vehicles.
I agree that speed (body in motion) is involved in all crashes, but not that speeding is the cause of most.
The fact that it can be turned off makes it a joke - and it's on everyone who buys a new car.

And you know they're requiring breathalyzers and driver monitoring on 2026 cars right? The car will be able to turn off if it thinks you're drunk or distracted. Seems like a good idea, but it's government overreach.

If this had existed during Covid they would have used it to shut down cars completely, and/or impose movement restrictions.
Imagine trying to prove to your car that you are part of over half of the population that was considered essential and thus need to get to work.

I'll take the 109 where I can even select which lights are on ;)
Oh most cars on the roads today allow near-full freedom to choose which lights are on.
It's just the owners who think DRLs are low-beams and don't know they have zero lights elsewhere.

Unless you do it the lotus way which is have all lights on including interior then when you turn the lights on it dims the radio and gauge cluster 🤦

So for the western states, the local dealer is in Colorado Springs. That is my biggest concern if they start having lights and warnings for sensors going off. I don't have the hours in a day to drive from Denver to deal with issues.

Drives me crazy. Think fog, rain, snow drivers are invisible because they have no clue but DRL's actually are. Except Volvo. They seem to be the only ones that have running lights and not just fronts.

This first thing I did on my Exige was the "green wire" mod, i.e. disable the DRLs. Other than not being able to completely control the lights, the problem was the DRLs were so bright at night I often forgot to turn on the head (and hence tail) lights.

Please do not give them any more ideas... Actually, I think they have that idea. You just said the quiet part out loud...

London has on the M25 and on motorways elsewhere, the ability to create temporary speed limits that drive me nuts when I’m there.
Offends my now Americanized “values”.

You guys sound like you're in a hurry. Did you all just finish LS swaps, or just worried you'll break down before getting there?

On my Saab there are many settings you can change. Disabling the DRL was one of them and one that I did within days of purchasing the car.

Have you ever driven on MA highways? In my experience there are usually 2 cars in each lane going either the speed limit or slightly below. There is a Peloton for sometimes 1/2 to 1 mile behind them. I don’t drive excessively fast anymore yet 5-10 over isn’t all that excessive imho. Same happens on I95 practically anywhere during the day. Controlling a vehicle not to exceed the speed limit is more than Government overreach, its unsafe as the Peloton cars are usually right on each others ass. In an emergency stop, the result is a long pileup.
