Camping Chair

I was going to recommend these since I borrowed them from Meatblanket 4 years ago. They were so good, I bought a set for my sister and bro-in-law.

But yes, they are awesome. Glad to hear they are still going strong after the AWD Cherocar adventure.

Damn that seems like a loooong time ago. Wondering why you haven't been back?

Does the Kermit chair need the leg extensions to sit high enough at a table to eat? It looks a bit short.
I'm also considering the Frontrunner chair.

Yes. They are just tall enough that your butt is off the ground. My brother has left his around the campfire @ rover events and had random people sit in them and break them a couple times now.

Yep, they no about it as a super nice beach chair with leg extensions you can add to sit at a table..

I can totally see flopping into it and breaking it.. it?s wood and cloth after all.

I've never eaten at a table on a trip. We've always eaten sitting around the campfire with our food in our laps, or standing around the bonnet or tailgate of a truck. Works fine and you don't have to carry a table.

Life. LOL. A woman moved into my house. I travel all the time for work, so the last thing I'm interested in doing when I get home, is getting on another airplane!!

I've "invested" in an LR3 that will be used for out-west trips in the future. However the stars are aligning for an August/September trek out there. When I end up back out there, I'll be shooting you a message.

LOL and if you need anymore parts out of the east coast, now is the time :D

I picked up a Helinox a couple years ago and it is by far my favorite. I'm no spring chicken and it handles my 230lbs just fine. The best feature is the tiny packed size - I only sit occasionally and I'm done with dedicating space to store huge packed chairs. I could easily fit my chuck box in all that reclaimed space!

big chairs are lame. most of the ones posted in this thread are effing huge. the helinox is super small but weird to sit in. i bought one to try and its not good for anything aside from sitting perfectly still. i like more of a cocktail chair. a kick back, slouch, drink whiskey, reveling in camaraderie kind of chair. kermit

Could you imagine driving for 12+ hours every day > getting to camp at midnight, and then setting up a full Snow Peak table, only to set your plate on? Good lord.

Maybe our trips are unique in that way... dunno.

As for the table...........
I guess each to their own. Half the time we eat sitting around the campfire and other times we eat at a table. It is nice to have an option.

We stop before sundown and set up camp in one way or another.

We've tried to do that more... (stop before sundown), sounds nice.

I have what I think is the REI version of a Helinox. I can't imagine someone much larger than me using it. I lean onto the back two legs pretty often, and it hasn't bent or broken yet. They are okay, but I only got them for the size. I'd love a Kermit or something nicer, but don't really have the room.

The Kermit with extra legs breaks down really small 18x6x4 in the storm bag or even smaller w/o the legs
.
We use out table for group prep and dominos never eaten at a camp table, we either stand or sit around the fire, if my buddy brings the skottel if you sat down you?d miss dinner lol

The Kermit is pretty small and takes up very little space. It was designed to fit in a saddlebag on a Harley touring bike.

Jimmie, you should swing by EE - I?m sure John would spend an entire afternoon playing with Kermit chairs before offering a $6 steak and Johnny Walker.

My current chairs are from the Walmart in Whitehorse. Left the old ones at the campground. They are red. You can sit in them. They are fancy and have a place for a beer in the arm rest. They fold up and have a bag. Some five year old in China made them for us. I think they were $5. That's 50 cents in American.
