Looks good. YRM or in house? Goal to make them cheaper than $1800 genuine, or better in some way?

We are doing both the drop down & swing away, Series & Defender fitment. These are being made in Maine from *almost scratch*(shop does not have the ability to make the inner panel because of the unique ribbing, so we are supplying those from the UK)

Swing aways will be a proper NAS replica with the single rope hook.

They are going to be a good amount less than the genuine units!

Based on the stack on the right in the photo, we will likely have these within 2-3 weeks. That's one of the benefits of having them made 4 hours away, besides the immense improvement in quality vs. overseas manufacturing.

We have been working with this company for several years now on small projects, and now moving into larger projects with them. The director of operations, our main point of contact is a huge Rover enthusiast. He's been into Rovers forever, and it's the only reason they're willing to work with us on these smaller projects(they're a major manufacturing company)

This is great. We’ve been modifying the aftermarket ones to incorporate the NAS latch and hinges since the genuine is so expensive. This should be a nice part to have available

The aftermarket ones are also pretty low quality in my experience. These are based on both the latest genuine part, as well as the factory 94 NAS one we borrowed from an employee. There are a few variances between the two, we sort of picked & chose.

Are you using thicker material than aftermarket or improving QC?

Agreed. We have had to do some tweaking to make them sit square.

I know that the 94's didn't have a hole for the lock barrel... what other differences are there?

94s also had a lot of redundant holes, to the point where LR listed screws and rivets for "redundant holes" in the parts book.

They also had the snaps for the early tops, and holes for the raised brake light bar

Ah, miss the good old days when new take offs with hinges etc were $150.

Are the back panels galvanized?

That was less than a decade ago, good times for sure. Now the genuine drop down is obsolete and the swing version is around $1600.

No, they are just treated steel. We have considered doing a drop down version with the galvanized inner panel, but didnt do it on this first run
