mach5 alloy and zu are slight different. Mach5 use special lugs that come with the wheels, ZU use the alloy rover lug nuts . there is also a steel mach 5 style wheel

the maxxtraxx mach 5 pn DA2471 is a 16x8 and the lightest 16x8 alloy that i found at 22 lbs ...my next wheel
I do like the DA2471....especially the weight. the unfortunate part is the limited tire options for 16". I would like to go bigger than 33" (cummins r2.8 w/1.2tc) to keep the rpms down...but dont really want to go 315 wide to get there. I like thinner tires...makes them look bigger...ha ha

Swampers are available in a 35x10.50r16 if you want to go super mud tall and skinny , they even offer a 35x10r16 In a bogger if you want to look like an idiot.

Downside of the swampers ? They are ultra heavy

FWIW i landed on a wheel from Lucari Design. I told Chris at British Defenders about them and he brought in a pile of them. Same 17X8 i think.

probably works out to about the same price - if I have to send it back.

So, the wheel uses Mag Wheel style mounting - not 60degree as I had originally been informed.
Does anyone know the diameter of the LR Alloy Wheel Nut barrel, as well as the length (end to washer face)?
The hole is 30mm diameter, by 31mm long and my 27mm socket fits in the wheel face.

these are the floating cap series that came on my tornados. The height of cap alone is 31.4mm including washer, diameter of shank/body is 28.9mm. Height of exposed engagement length including chamfer to bottom of washer 19.8mm, overall height 51.20mm.

the self centering is achieved by very little clearance on sides of nut to sides of alloy. Pressure is entirely from washer. Chamfer is only to aid nut going in hole

It's kinda funny that LR3/4 and Pretender owners with stylish alloys seek out steel wheels for practicality, while classic Defender owners with practical steel wheels seek out alloy wheels for more style.

So, to put the question to rest....
1785RVN105165M14 - Black Rhino Ravine - 17x8.5 fit just fine with the LR lug nuts. I went with the "capless" versions in black (also referred to as HD) which didnt have the Chamfer. So now, there are options between the Black Rhino "Realm" and the "Ravine".
As a side note - I do like the gearing that the 35's bring with the 1.2TC and 3.54 gears - the gears dont seem so 'short' now. I Haven't taken it on the highway yet - that comes tonight - but the revs should be down in a more acceptable range at highway speeds.

So just to be clear that wheel pictured has a center hub that fits snugly around the wheel hub on the truck ?

I ask because using non tapered lugs means you are relying on the wheel hub for centering.

Correct, hub centric spacers fit on the wheel hub - the spacers are centered by the lugs.
Adjusted the stops about 1/8”, have not noticed rub yet. At full turn, it looks like I might have a hair of contact on my gwyn lewis front mud guards

That's what I'm saying , the lugs aren't doing any centering. If you're running a spacer that is hub centric that's fine but the spacer needs to fit the back of the wheel perfectly as the wheel lugs are not doing any centering.

Make sense ?

Yes, that was my concern and why I ordered one for test fitting…to be sure
