300Tdi rough idle

What was the solution for this? I’m having lumpy idle after a valve adjustment with idle at 700. If I go up a little, maybe to 750-800 it smoothes out completely. After I noticed the lump idle I changed the fuel filter but it had no affect.

I did some other work along with the valve adjustment that took it off the road for a bit longer than planned. For whatever reason after a 50 mile hard test run the lumpy idle has resolved. Maybe some air got in the fuel system during the down time? Also, hot idle now rests right at 700 without turning the adjustment back where it was. I dunno…
