What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I also installed a 5 lb. Amerex Halotron fire extinguisher behind the driver's seat. I'd installed a couple of smaller, conventional dry chemical units on day one, but I wouldn't want to use them on any vehicle that I care about. I had considered a CO2 extinguisher, but the lack of a pressure...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Our rattling exhaust pipe had been getting worse, so I finally decided to do something about it. The source of the noise turned out to be a worn-out rubber bushing. The problematic part didn't look like any of the other exhaust hangers, but I wanted to get the vehicle back on the road, so I put...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Not today, but this week: Installed a set of Britpart Fitted Waterproof Seat Covers that I purchased from lrnj_autoparts on eBay. Now that it's monsoon (and SUP) season here in southeast Florida, it seemed like an appropriate addition to our new old Land Rover. Covers are for all three front...

    US based parts suppliers

In addition to the previously-mentioned sources, I've also been finding parts on eBay. Atlantic British (atlanticbritish), Lucky 8 (lrparts), Safari (safarihp), and other suppliers sell through the site, and I can often quickly compare prices and shipping charges by simply searching for a...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

if the cover is closed, the switch toggle is held in the down position (which is off, in this case). Opening the cover allows the switch to be moved. The cover stays up on its own until I'm ready to turn off the work light. Pressing down on the open cover causes it to snap shut and forces the...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Installed a new and improved switch for the Hella work light. I wanted something that would be less likely to get turned on (or left on) inadvertently. I think this will work ;)

Mechanical Speedo w/ 1 piece cable & clamp

Do you happen to know if this would work for a LHD 1988 90 TD? I'm getting tired of using an iPhone app for a speedometer.

2.5NA 2.5TD glowplug warm up time

While attempting to diagnose some electrical faults on my wife's 1988 90 2.5 TD, I inadvertently disconnected the ad hoc manual glow plug warm up button. Didn't notice a difference in starting. Hmmm . . .

    Glass Fuse Conversion

So would these Lucas fuses considered 8A or 15A? And what what would be a suitable regular blade type fuse equivalent?

    Glass Fuse Conversion

The fuse panel in the photo belonged to a vehicle that was, in fact, imported from northern Italy. Thanks to this discussion, however, it now looks like this:

    Glass Fuse Conversion

It looks like I've come to the right place. My wife just bought a 1988 90 TD, and this is what I found when I started investigating an intermittent brake light fault.
