Yeah, I have stopped posting there, but I check in daily.

No reason to trash the site, or those still using it. The truth of how this site is better will creep in, and the migration will occur over time.

I think NAS-ROW mods should start a Go Fund Me or PayPal donation account though. I know they aren't trying to make money, but if they don't have to pay out of pocket to keep this place running, all the better.

I'll make sausages soon and deliver some and try to get him on here. I think he's just been doing a lot more wrenching at his house with the series trucks there now and vw beetle.

I doubt it.

I like Briggs and Barry and the rest of the old regulars but I doubt we'll ever get all of them. I guess that some are bitter that things at D90 went the way they did with the sale and all. I can relate. I lost a lot of love for the forum when CvC sold out even though I understood why he did it.

It will take a while but this forum will eventually build the history that D90 has and we'll get plenty of our own new members organically. I'm pretty happy with how it's growing.

We're going to have sweet iOS and Android apps. Just waiting on a vendor to fix a small problem before we upload them to the app stores. It will be worth the wait, I think.

I tend to agree with that. I felt the same way when Chris VonC sold it. I to understood his reasons, but I left for quite a few years. Honestly, it is only within the last year I started frequenting it again. Mostly to buy parts if I am honest. I didn't really feel motivated to participate. Partly, because everyone I had known was gone.

No plans to delete my prior existence off dsource.
I'll visit them but this is my new garage.
Looking forward to the apps.

Yeah, I know he's doing some home remodeling or something....

I wish he would bring his wise-assery to this board!

Yep, people come and go.
The old timers sometimes get tired of answering the what-size-tires-can-I-fit questions... LOL

BTW, I think I'll be seeing Chris von C next weekend in real life with a couple Rover guys.... maybe should we tar and feather him for the og sale?? ha ha:D

I will be 100% over here soon after I get my tablet at home repaired. I can only access thru my phone right now.
I agree with everyones opinion that momentum will take a while due to the vast bank of experience and knowledge that exists over there. That said, I think there is a Trump style HUGE opportunity to provide executive summary type topic documentation over here to kick things off if the SME's are willing, that will help newbs searching for answers to not have to read through 150 posts of back and forth debates with no definitive answer which exists on dsource. The perfect example is the topic "what's legal for import". That topic makes my head explode, and being a veteran dsource member and now facing the potential of importing a ROW in next few years, I'm not sure I would have the stamina to read through those debates to draw a conclusion.

I recommend as fuel for this forum, identify the most common topics brought up by defender veterans and new prospects to defender ownership, figure out the hottest topics for each sub-group, and generate sticky threads with "what you need to know" answers. that will make this forum the go to source for North America.

Sweet Jesus what have they done to D-Source. I went over there today (somebody told me there was a HCPU tailgate for sale there). Ads everywhere and gossip links at the bottom of the page. SMH

I'm not seeing that. I get banner at top and bottom, and then a two boxes along the side. So annoying to look at.

I'm a member of several message boards and an admin on a college sports board. That d source board is the worst one I have ever tried to participate in. I never posted much, but when I did ask a question, i typically got two responses:
1)Use the shitty search function
2)If you have to ask that question, then maybe you are not worthy of Land Rover ownership.
I really like this board, and I hope it continues to grow. The best ones that I participate in seem to be the ones where people with a like minded interest share thoughts and information on that interest. When the main focus starts to be making money on the site, it will ultimately suffer. I appreciate what yall are doing here.
