I fixed the rust in my footwell in 2017. That was pretty nice. I supposed the 6.2LS3 was pretty cool too :)

That will be very nice!

I'd spend time to watch this (skipping the part outside the van):

You will not want to shower inside the vehicle as the inside will be all wet and never get dry. All your clothes, linens, bedding, pillows will stay damp, and any metal or glass surface will be coated with condensed water.

You can use a Webasto to heat the water and have hot showers outside.
If that is not a reasonable compromise then you might want to rethink who goes camping and who stays home.

...and this showed up for my ?0th birthday :)

Since then I've fixed the starter, clutch hydraulics, all the steering column switches, installed the Tuffy box from the 109, put on the new top & "fume" curtain :) It's a hoot.

Three modifications come to mind as my favorites.

Frontrunner water tank. This tank was a serious game changer for my annual trips. Having 10 gallons of fresh cool water easily available has been incredible.

Rear door table. This table is a spin off from the table I built for my old Disco which was inspired by the Olivares table(s). I used kitchen grade stainless, 10lb gas struts, and bamboo for the table. This is used constantly on my trips and is great for quick lunch stops or for camp cooking.

Rear storage/ sleeping platform. I decided to build a flat platform that I could sleep on but I also needed storage for spares. In addition, I wanted a drawer for kitchen goods and an open cavity for storing other camp items like; camp table, snow peak grill/ fireplace, axe, charcoal etc. Random stuff. The front of the platform is accessed/ divided through two boat deck hatches. These compartments are low and center and house all my heavy spares and other tools that I don't readily need. They mount flat and aren't an issue at all to sleep on.

I like the rear door table. Do you find the table fits your needs?

Tradition has it that all East-coasters driving Defenders to Utah must stop at my place in Manhattan, KS for a steak dinner and whiskey.

I forgot to mention one mod that I really really like. I moved my windshield washer jet over to under the drivers wiper blade and added a second one under the passengers. now I get usable water onto my windshield. i love that.
