Winter Gloves (for driving) - What do you like?

So with many heading to the Maine Winter Romp this weekend, this should be a timely subject. No Heated steering wheels in Defenders (and series) trucks, so surely some people have winter gloves they like to wear when driving after teh mercury takes a dive..

Was curious what people use and like. Lookign for something warm (obviously) but also not terribly bulky. They don't need to do double duty for rigging winche lines, I have heavy leather work gloves in the back for that..

These are what I have. If it is really cold I’ll add some wool liners from Hestra

Damn, you have heat in your truck, right? Not looking for anything that heavy or bulky, just something to keep my hands warm on the cold steering wheel when the temps drop in the 20s and below. Still want to be able to have some dexterity to adjust radio, or other controls..

I like these but may not be as thin as you’d like. Sounds like you’re looking for “driving gloves”. Lots of options there.

$10 Wells Lamont work gloves from the jungle website or your favorite big box. Doubles as winch gloves ….

Haha, I guess I misread this as being just about winter gloves! Hestra makes a ton of different gloves and I have several pairs, so I can highly recommend the brand as a whole.

Agreed on Hestra gloves. Have been using them for many years for skiing. Also have the merino wool liners if it gets really cold.

I've been wearing the same pairs of Kinco ski gloves and mittens on rotation for skiing every weekend in Maine for 7+ years. Mittens keep me warm on the coldest Maine days (including 2 Saturdays ago) and price is right. I like the give'r classic work glove for something less bulky.

Somehow, old Army D3-A military gloves have been the best old rover driving gloves ever. Always keep my hands warm. The wool liners just increase that warmth. Also cheap. I scored a bunch of pairs years ago at Salvation army and have slowly killed them all. Far more durable than the cheapo work gloves I normally get. Internet shows they are available for $15 used or $30 for new (maybe?) with wool inserts.

I'm not a MILSPEC guy. Usually MILSPEC means crap. But these gloves are warm. I keep a pair in my center console.

I grew up in cold Wisconsin, never used gloves when driving.
But something with a leather outer would be ideal for operating farming machinery in the cold. In this case a defender.

Another vote for Hestra. They are a true glove company. Not a clothing company that happens to make gloves. Only thing I've found that works in -30F

$100 plus for gloves?

Maybe I should buy some pair to try out. As @WreckITFrank knows, I dislike wearing gloves.
Yes, Hestra is very proud of their product yet have had mine now for 5 years with no sign of wear. Although only use for skiing I average 60 days a year and still actually use poles with straps when turning 😁 so there is rubbing on the leather. Mine probably overkill for driving yet they make a wide selection. The leather is really soft yet durable
