Winch Rope

I know this is an endless conversation, but recent posts forced me to look into it...I have both a husky 8 and 10 and need to decide which to mount on my 130. I know they are basically the same except for some gearing and spool size (expo portal) , and either way want to move to a rope over a cable. There are a million brands, but I see britpart now offering this with the almighty excel hook (or something close) for a very resonable price in comparison. Dyneema seems to be one of the standards in quality? But open to suggestions. I think the Husky 8 will do fine sitting up front, especially if I ever actually need to use it, ill make sure i have some blocks/pulleys in my kit....and that's if AAA cant get me out

Thoughts on this? And a suggestion on the 8 or 10?

While I cant confirm 100%, that looks like Marlow produced rope which I've used exclusively for the last decade and never had an issue.

isnt dyneema the brand, just the raw fiber that many companies use? If so, that makes sense.

Correct, they buy them in bulk and then splice with whichever hook/loop and retaining tab they choose.

I’ve used AmSteel Blue from MasterPull for many years. Its now sold as their Classic. They also offer a line with a protective jacket which is great for UV and abrasion resistance. There is some great info on their site:
The Britpart line looks good as well, yet, Masterpull specializes in recovery gear.
