Which Would You Sell?

I've got a set of Cyclone wheels, and a set of Boost wheels, which would you sell?

The Boosts have aged better, and are more aesthetically appropriate for the Defender (a Defender does not need to look like it is “in motion” while parked or at a stop-light). If you want a “modern” look (not my personal preference), Sawtooths are probably the best current option.

I never liked the Boost, at all. But it's incerdibly popular, so it's likely the best choice. I have a set of Cyclones in my garage that will go with my RRC when I sell it (original wheels).

I should clarify: I've got these two sets, I need new tires for the '98 Disco, which had the Boosts on them from factory, but I kind of like the Cyclones better. So I'm actually asking more like: Which would actually sell better than the other? to help make my decision.

I had some boosts that I almost couldn't give away. I traded them to a well known hoarder for inventory, but they seem to be hit and miss depending on who needs a set. Seems the genuine alloy market for rovers is not high demand. But time and location dependent.

Boosts were hot three to four years ago. Trouble is, most used alloys now have knicks, scratches or signs of top coat deterioration. Cyclone might be interesting if very clean to an owner wanting to maintain originality of their RRC

I’ve always kept the original wheel on the Rovers. Have an extra set of Propeller Disco wheels picked up in Europe I used on the Rangie for a bit yet put the Cyclones back on when we returned to US.

Sounds like you’d be happy with either. So to answer your question of which would sell better: offer up both. Whichever set sells, run the other.

My preference is Boosts over Cyclones.

Cyclones look good on DI's.. Ive seen worse on a D90, boosts look good on DI's and especially Defenders...

Personally, I kind of like the Cyclones on the DI, and the Boost on the Defender. But only barely. So I let the kids decide and we are keeping the original Boosts. I'll have a stack of four Cyclones for some time, in case anyone is sore about missing out on Peter's deal, but at least (including the four that were on the truck) I got rid of the ELEVEN stupid old tires I had sitting around here! The DI is not going to be driven much more than once or twice a month since both kids are now off to college this week. It will be a future fun trail rig since it's too difficult to replace the special edition body matching bumper ends and chrome.... The thing still runs super smooth and quiet, pulls really well, and the TC even works! Mostly.
