Want Real Value? FJ70

So a buddy of mine just sold his VW Syncro and picked this up in Seattle this week. It only has 90,000 km on the clock, Tdi, A/C, power windows, power door locks, and the doors close with a satisfying "culunck!"

He spent only 3/4 what I spent on my stock Defender that is five years older.

From my experience the Toyota's are better made but the parts are a lot more expensive to replace.

Is that an LJ70? From what I understand that motor has its own set of issues. If it is the straight 6 diesel, well then that is a different story.

That being said, I would love to find one with the 6 cylinder 1HZ in LHD.

Not sure, it is an in line 4. But he is a diesel mechanic, and I'm pretty sure when someone says that Toyota engine has "issues" on the boards on the nets, it isn't the same thing as saying that Rover engine has "issues". But I think I've read the same thing about some of those engines.

Nope that there is a five door. I would own one if it were not an LJ. And from what I have seen previously the bumper is of normal proportions. Guessing from the clues it is a 1992.

It is a '93, and it has a normal sized front bumper with a Toyota factory winch and original cover.

My first vehicle ever was a 2 door Fj70. I miss that thing every day. I'd probably still have it if I hadn't moved to the states.
