I want to make a wrench for removing and reinstalling the big ass nut from the crank shaft and need a pattern pulley. I can buy, rent or borrow it from you. If I borrow it I will mail it back when I'm done making a pattern.
I want to make something like this.

We have ones like this that I designed and have manufactured.
Originally tried a flat type like you are considering (hard to tell by the picture) and it bent badly after a few uses.
It has to be strong.
If not, it will ruin the threads in the pulley.
You'll need 4 bolts... I don't think 2 is enough.

I agree I doubt two bolts will cut it. The amount of force is serious, I was questioning if the four bolts were going to take it.

I had my friend laser cut me these two pieces I designed and then I welded spacers between the two plates. This is cut from 1/2"

I bought a wrench from Robert. Anybody have any idea what length and thread M8 bolts are needed? Robert doesn't;t have a 300Tdi handy to measure.
