Unitruck Mirrors

I bought a pair of Unitruck mirrors (https://unitruck.com/collections/la...with-wide-angle-glass-unhtd-manual-left-right) for my 110. Here's a summary of the review:

I figured I was in trouble when I opened the box and one of the mirrors fell out and also had some small damage in the upper right hand corner:

So I glued it back in. I bought the Unitruck mirrors because I thought they might be better than what I have:

I've been running with the stick-on convex mirror since before I bought my 110, starting with my Scrambler I bought in '98, specifically when I started pulling U-Haul trailers.

After installing the mirrors, I could not tighten the clamping bolt enough to stop either mirror from pointing downward when reaching 65 MPH, or often much less. By the time I drove 10-15 miles I could only see asphalt in the convex mirror and half the full size mirror. This was never an issue with the old mirrors. So I removed the mirrors and put duct tape on the ball of the arm. This worked for the right side but not the left side - the left side still pointed downward, albeit a bit more slowly. My theory is that the plastic in the Unitruck mirrors is too flexible.

Even when things are placed optimally, my field of view with the Unitruck mirrors is significantly less than the stick-on convex mirror. The images in the Unitruck mirror are larger, but I'd rather give up being able to determine whether it's a Dodge or Ford off to my right and have a larger field of view instead.

Finally, when removing the mirrors to put my old mirrors back on, the internal nut came loose on both mirrors, making it impossible to re-install the mirrors without taking the mirror apart. Good riddance.
