Turn signal issues...

I have an issue that I am hoping someone can provide some help. ('88 Ninety, RHD)
My turn signals have now stopped working (again) (hazards work fine)
this has happened in the past...when I went to fix over the weekend - they were again working.
It now seems they are not functioning - hazards work fine, so lights arent burnt out.
I thought (might still be) it could be the switch lever but it was recently replaced as the previous one had a broken collar that tightens around the column. I did notice that the dash indicator light does NOT light up with the hazards being on, but the flashers do work.

I thought it could be a fuse...but I dont know what fuse it would be - looking at the haynes digrams - all wires go into the steering column.
All lights and all other functions are working - lights, highbeams, fog light, wiper, wiper pump, horn - just no turn signals
I tried metering the wiring connectors going to the turn signal stalk - but nothing.
Thought or ideas? Could it be the turn signal relay? The hazards work just fine.

Turned out to be a loose hazard switch to connector. I will see about adding to the copper pins or tighten the female connections to keep it tight.

Since many issues can arise from a defender hazzard switch, I got this plug n play Carling switch from Jason and didn't look back.

I have definitely been considering that....Originally I thought $75 was steep...but after chasing gremlins a couple of times....really not expensive!!! and thanks for saving me having to search for the link!
