Trouble shooting

Hi folks.this is,to my understanding,the fuel pump on a tdi 110 diesel(94).
Nice and basic-lovely.
A few weeks ago i started the car and a pink fluid that looked like a brake or clutch fluid started dripping.turned off engine and the dripping stopped.following week turned on engine and the fluid was yellow(pale).it is simply diesel fuel.
So my question is what was pink inside the fuel pump that dissolved(?).
The car idles beautifully but there is this fuel leak and i am hesitant to actually drive it
Just looking for advice.

Moved to the correct forum area.
A lift pump is cheap and easy to replace. I'm not sure of your pink fluid drip other than perhaps the pump internals are dissolved and leaking. Swap it out and see.
