Looking to upgrade the family camper from a small pop up to a 16' Scamp or Casita.
Based on my research it looks like the 110 can tow about 1600 lbs without brakes, and up to 7700 lbs with brakes. What is the real world towing capacity for extended road trips? Not a huge drop in power or fuel efficiency as well as safe to manage behind the 110.
Our current camper is around 1000 lbs and I don't think the truck even really notices it. The campers I am looking at range in weight from 2400 to 2800. Which puts them well below the weight for towing with brakes.
Thoughts?
