Tickford Install

I have a Tickford that I want to install. What gives the top structure for the windscreen railing? It looks like there is a small pocket there- what can I use?

Are you talking about the header rail on the top of the windscreen frame?

There is a piece of steel that goes in the sleeve and that goes into the rail bolted to the top of the windscreen.

I might use aluminium for the piece of steel if you don’t have it. Rounding the edges to make sure it does not cut.

PS congrats on having a tickford. I kept one for a long time in spite of the challenges.

Measurements of the steel bar are 3/4 in wide and 49 1/2 in long. It appears the thickness is about 1/16 or maybe just a little more. I had a crappy tape measure with me so kind of hard to get a good read. I’m on my second Tickford so I have an extra bar I can probably let go of if you really want to keep it original.
