NAS-ROW braintrust: who makes the very best cot? I am 6'1" and need some lightweight cots for my new Snowtrekker hot tent. I like the Snow Peak but I think it will be too short for me.

My camping tastes seem to vary every year. I was a inside the truck camper for a while. Now gone back to on ground but with a cot camper. Of course my last two trips made me think about a new quick set up tent.....Why can't I be satisfied with what I got.

I can’t say that I like any chairs for camping with Solid m arms— they heat up in the Moab and summer sun then scorch your arms when applied. For $300, never. Fabric arms. Plus the weight and complexity of folding. If I’m gonna take a heavy, solid arm comfy chair, I’ll grab my GSI Rocker that I got for under $50 from Amazon Warehouse (the bag was damaged with a nickel size hole, lol). But spend $300 on a camping chair? Never gonna happen.

Any fabric chair seems to get embers from camp fires burnt through them around our fires eventually. Even more painful if they are expensive. Hell, we give away folding chairs at work for promos to clients or buy at King Soopers for $5.99. I have a stack— light, super easy to fold, and I’ve given them away to fellow campers that don’t have a chair on a regular basis. They super appreciate it. Plenty comfy. It’s not like a don’t know comfy— all our living room furniture is Ekornes Stressless. I think the fabric chairs are just fine. I do have a couple 300lb HD ones for my bigger friends— nice when I want to sit cross legged on chairs.

Btw— any folding chair that needs instructions and assembly— not for me. We often roll into camps at night and it’s the last thing I want

Those are good if you like a comfort style grip, but I prefer how slim the Olfa is.

OLFA is as close to surgical you can get without a scalpel. and they are compact and small. Go really well in a tool roll.

Here’s something I saw at a Client’s garage. Didn’t get it at first, but having watched it in action I do know.

Weighted sockets for removing the stubborn never coming off bolt. They work like a flywheel, and do get miserably tight nuts off.

Made by Lisle and Ingersoll Rand under the power socket name. Definitely pricey thought.

Yes, works well. Slower and more expensive than acid, but a lot safer, doesn't cause rust after removal, wont eat parts excessively, and wont screw up top coatings.

I have another candidate to offer to this thread. Neverwet hydrophobic coating (specifically windows, but the fabric applications work well too albeit with a very slight haze that remains but not on glass). It blows away rainx IMO because the wipers don't tend to jump like they do after a rainx application.

I really like my Utilikilt. Laugh as you may, wear it once and you may well become addicted (and has those cinches). Warm weather it’s the bomb.
for mixed use pants check out Truewerks. For dedicated hiking/scrambling pants, Black Diamond Alpine pants. May not have cinches, but stretchy and alpine is integral low profile belt. I’ve worn their BVDs (became alpine) since 90’s.
