What does it take to make a TD5 speedo work with my 300Tdi powered truck/dash/electrical system, etc??? Anybody ever have success with this?
I want an electronic speedo with both MPH and KPH. The VDO doesn't come that way unless you get the 140 MPH unit.

Dave,

VDO makes an 85mph/130kph speedometer as well. For your truck I would go that route since you can program in your current milage, and you actually get a little higher resolution readout since the sweep is across a smaller spread of numbers. The part number is VDO 437-152.

If you're adamant about running the Td5 gauge I can pull up some schematics when I have some time and give you a pinout.

That thread is ridiculous to get any information from. All I want to do is find out how to wire up a TD5 speedo to my truck if possible.

Ok,sorry.

I printed out the instructions and diagrams and wired up an 83 110 easily to include the low fuel light etc.

I didn't but after a bunch of research it seemed a few people were having signal issues on occasion with them. Though that was mostly in a downtown area. Which I will never drive my truck downtown, but didn't want to even risk signal issues. So,I just used the hall effect sender.

Steinhagen has the gps speedo in his tithonus. He mounted the antenna on the front wing so it had the most exposure. Still when he drives under an overpass etc, it dies momentarily.
