Soft top Conversion

With hood sticks or NAS-style? Could be as low as 1-2k for the former and 10k for the latter.

Also depends on whether you want removable door tops etc.

I converted my POE hard top to soft top with parts I collected over a year or so. If you want the NAS cage, it will be expensive. Add the half doors and the rear half tailgate, plus all the hardware it adds up quick. As Jim asked, how do you want to do it?

I would like to keep my stock doors but know that I will need to replace the rear with a tailgate. Not looking for the expense of a NAS cage either. Just a nice Mohair top with windows to roll up

That’s not my truck, it belonged to a guy we all called Crazy George. But basically what you’ve got here is a hood stick kit, the matching gutter kit for the doors, a seat belt bar which is common on the late model soft top trucks, and the correct soft top. This top looks like the OEM heat welded PVC version. The drop-down tailgate requires tabs on the chassis but there are probably bolt-on versions. This install would also involve a rail that bolts to the windshield frame to retain the leading edge of the top.

God thats a ton of work and kit

It’s really not a ton of work at all. Especially compared to doing a NAS110 resto. :) Never did it on a 90, but helped on a series 88” and it was not bad. Just have a second person to help remove the metal roof.

Exmoor sells it all (maybe not the seat belt thing but I think there is another option for that). RN sells exmoor in the US. There are bolt on mounts for the rear crossmember the drop down tailgate. I know I have a set somewhere as they used to come with the take off tailgates. Personally I would do side swing tailgate.

Many of us have gone this route.
All Wheel Trim Ltd. Land Rover 90/110 Defender

Not that bad as everything bolts right up. I had to have my B pillar replaced because the former owner had a customer foldable top.

There is also a heavy duty version which has thicker tubing. You would have to call Kim at AWT though as he doesn't have it on the website.
Wow, That looks so different - Awesome! I remember the convertible top on that white truck because I looked at it when I bought mine from Johan. Great job!

I may have a spare, new in box AWT kit in my garage (ROW D90 black mohair soft top with roll-up windows, belt rails, tailgate bar/clips, header bar, etc. No hoops tho). I ordered it as a backup when Exmoor was late making my top & sending the kit. I should try to find it and put it in the classifieds...
