Soft Brake Pedal

Trying to determine if a soft brake pedal is way of life with 97 NAS D 90. I have had brake fluid drained and switched professionally, I have bled brakes myself with power bleeder and old fashioned way and still my brakes are not what I expected - and yes I have checked calipers, pads etc.

Could still be air in lines, leaking master, weak booster, or old hoses that go from caliber hose to brake hose. I’ve switched the older rubber hose to stainless sheathed hoses and that helped me but ultimately I still had a bubble in my line.

What’s the condition of the brake master and booster?
The master and booster have been replaced at some point in last couple of years prior to my ownership as they look fresh compared to the rest of the engine bay. The calipers have been replaced as well. I have not replaced the rubber hoses so I will give that a try next.

If you’re planning to get a lift and/or improved articulation, you should consider extended brake lines. Most Rover suppliers have them.
