Side window leak - advice on repair sought

One of my sliding side windows on a 2000 Defender 90 is leaking water between the window pains so I need to replace the glazing strip (MWC7615) and seal draught vertical rail (MWC7614). Can this be done with the window in place or does the entire window need to be taken out?

I removed the windows to do it on mine. Not sure if it can be done with out removing them, but it would not be easy or save any time if you could. Removing the windows is not hard, and the Garrison kit has new closed end rivets.

The Garrison kit is on my list of things to do. Be sure to post up pics when you do yours.

Angus, how does the glazing strip and seal draught vertical rail attach? Does the glazing strip have an adhesive backing? Seal draught rail pressure fit into the guide rail (MUC3770)?

Yes, the glazing strip presses in, but has a flange on it that holds it in place. Getting the old one out requires a bit of work plus the track needs to be cleaned before the new one goes in. If the track in not clean, the window binds.

Garrison has a video to show how the kit is installed that may explain it better than I can.
