RRC lift and tires

I've got a 3 inch RTE spring lift. I get a little rub on 255/85 16s on extreme articulation. I did trim a bit of the fender interior sheet metal and I do have RTE bumpers, so there has been some additional trimming to fit those.

I have 3" on mine with 255/85 and honestly need a little smaller tire to keep from rubbing. I'll try and post a picture later.

2" is higher than stock. You will realize something like 1.5" over stock.

If I remember correctly, taking the airbags out of a LWB and putting 'stock' springs and shocks in, you can actually run 235/85 tires with only minimal rubbing on the frame.

I'm talking OME type of numbers here, by the way. I have not used anything but LR or OME on my trucks. And until recently, with the 7.5x16 tires, I've run nothing but 235/85. That's very close to what 7.5x16 is, but a more modern, easy to get size.

On my beluga 93 lwb ran 255/s with the original air suspension.

Currently have another lwb which had just been converted to oe coils when I bought it. I wanted to keep the supple ride of the original equipment springs so I used 2 inch spacers under the spring cups and have 265/75's on it for the past couple of years.

Here's my 94 lwb in Brooklands green with Lightstone interior.
This is on oem springs, bilstein shocks, sitting on top of 2 inch spacers.
265/75 michelins on boosts.
I like the way it looks and drives.

This is 3" RTE over 235/85s

If you're considering it, I'll sell you my whole truck (or you can pick and part in my driveway what you want) as I've been thinking about giving this one up.
RTE lift, RTE trailing links, stainless extended brake lines, GBR front driveshaft, diff covers, 5 matching rims and rubber with less than 2000 miles on them, etc. If you want to discuss PM me. Tires are old but hold air enough.

Dagone, jburt, what's wrong with it/QUOTE]

Probably a fuel pump and suspension bushings, but I can't say, in good conscience to anyone, that's it.
I just don't have time and it's served its purpose. I'd love to part it from my garage and make money on it, but I have a crap load of shiplap in there and can't get it in there until it's gone. (Anyone want some shiplap?)

Just feeling nostalgic of having it help someone else rather than sit, and it's great add-ons for someone with a running truck.

255 85 16 KM2s with 2" springs and 1" spacers all 4 corners. Had rubbing on the front driving around town on speed bumps and curbs. Radiused the front fenders and trimmed the sliders back about 1 1/2 inches. No more rub even off road. Rear tires tuck perfectly with no trimming. Before and after trimming...

Rear tires tuck perfectly with no trimming.

They do indeed!

I didn't need to radius my front fenders, but did trim the lip on the inside of the fender to prevent it from rubbing. Externally it looks normal with the exception of the trimming for the RTE bumper.

Great color truck

Thanks. She's been rode hard and put away wet. And that was before I got her. The driver front fender was the only straight piece of metal on her and I hacked it up to fit the tires. Makes a pretty good trail truck.
