I’ve found an ROW truck I’m strongly considering buying but wanted to make sure I know everything to look for.
Here’s what I know:
1989 110 SW
Truck has an Ohio Title
VIN plate matches the title.
My questions:
The VIN plate on the brake pedal assembly is stamped (not embossed) is this an issue? We’re the earlier trucks stamped before they went to the embossed plates?
The seller does not have the import documents. Is this a problem, do I even need these once an ROW truck has a US title? Is there a way to look up or access these documents via US customs or another avenue?
What’s the best VIN lookup resource to use with trying to make sure everything is good with an ROW truck that’s already stateside? Carfax or some other resource?

To be clear, I think the seller is as clueless on this stuff as I am, I just want to make sure everything is above board, so I don’t have to deal with any issues down the road and can get it titled here in North Carolina issue free.
