Rovers North price increases

I had a few things in my Rovers North cart at the end of last week (new windscreen, associated seals, etc.) and went back in to purchase the items last night, and was surprised to see that all the items had increased in price by what looked to be about 10 to 15 percent. I assume that this is tariff related, but perhaps the increase was already planned to cover general increases in costs. Their prices have remained stable for quite some time, which I certainly appreciate.

Normally I include a few extra items whenever I place an order with RN...things I don't immediately need but rather odds and ends to have on hand. Those came out of my cart and I focused squarely on the items I actually needed. What a bummer. I realize that companies have to do what they need to do to stay in the black so I can't blame RN for increasing their prices, but this does seem to be an indication of increases we're likely to see on just about anything we purchase from overseas. ☹️ I guess we're about to find out.

It is unfortunate, but had to happen. It was a variable increase across all of our imported goods, and some products got hit much harder than others(steel/aluminum/Chinese CoO products). It's a lot easier to do a widespread increase now, rather than contacting people on every incoming order.

With stacked tariffs, there will be anywhere from 35% minimum to over 100% maximum, even more so if we see an additional 50% to China as mentioned today. Thankfully we moved a lot of product sourcing away from China the last time this happened, but some products just aren't made anywhere else.

If we have something in stock that jumped up last week, I can honor the previous pricing for this week only. Just shoot me an email

What makes things worse is that if you (as an individual or company) order something, you don't even know what the tariffs will be when the damn package arrives. Uncertainty alone has to be doing as much economic damage as the actual tariff amounts.

That all makes sense. A total bummer. I'm cool with the new prices for my current order, but thanks for the offer. You guys need to make a living.

I appreciate that, but really we're happy to honor anything that was imported before the tariffs were imposed.

Look at this a different way.

Imagine you custom ordered an Audi, Porsche, MB or BMW, and it's on a ship to the USA.

You've waited months for your custom order and now it's 25% more. Audi has already decided vehicles don't leave the port.

How would you react if Audi, BMW Mercedes Porsche tells your dealer that if you want to see your car pay the Tariff then they'll deliver it to the dealer?

I have been checking daily on prices at local JLR dealership. Thus far, they have not increased prices on vehicles already here. I am pleasantly surprise.

@Z.G Are prices going to come back down on some stuff now that there's going to be a 90 day reprieve on tariffs (excluding china)

I was out of the office today, but I would assume they'll come down a bit depending on CoO. There's still a 25% tariff on auto parts, and another 20/25% on steel/aluminum, so most of what we sell will still be incurring quite a bit of additional fees

The price at the dealer has not gone up because JLR has stopped shipping in vehicles for the month of April.

These prices will all fall back down once the factories here in the states open up and start producing 25+ year old Land Rover parts - so like in a month or so.

Hopefully they do not last long- I also had some things in my cart at RN for projects to get started on as the weather warms up but now I am leaning toward waiting and hoping the tariffs are withdrawn.
