Roof rack options / modifications

The Defender fit (with its roof rack) in the garage until I put 255/85's on her last week. I had to load the back end down with 350 pounds of wood pellets to sneak into the garage. Tire fitment is spot on and if I removed the roof rack completely I could pull in with ease, but I would like to keep the rack installed on the truck.

A) Does anyone recognize this roof rack (model / manufacture)?
B) I've already removed the side barriers (orange arrow) to buy back 3.5" of height.
C) Thinking of cutting 3/4 - 1" of the mid section of the feet to bring the rack closer to the roof profile & reweld - Thoughts?

I've explored "D" - with some creative carpentry I might be able to achieve 1/2 inch a vertical space but that would require me to redo some flashing as well not really interested in that... I appreciate where your head is at though!

how is that foot constructed? does it come off of the "u" if you remove the upper bolt?

The foot is approximately a foot in total length bent along a radius. At the top there's a small pedestal welded on which serves to brace and support one of the horizontal cross bars.
Hoping to ideas - considering fabricating my own.

Can't you cut them down and drill a new hole? Looks like the upper part unbolts from the foot. Hard to tell what it looks like behind.
