Removing steps 1995 D90

I need to remove the tube side steps from the 90. The front is attached with the bulkhead bolt. I can get the nut of the bolt but I can’t get the bolt to move. I have sliders too (I know having both looks ridiculous) and the step attachment portion is sandwiched between the outrigger and the slider. If the bolt would budge just half an inch I could pull the step down and be done with it.

Is that bulkhead bolt removable or is it welded in place?

Thanks,
Alex

To loosen the BAB (big ass bolt) loosen up the nut so you can hit just the nut with a mallet without hitting the bolt threads. Once it moves you may need a jack with a piece of wood as a pad to SLIGHTLY put pressure on the bulkhead and slide the bolt out. Putting the bolt back in is usually a PITA. Good luck!

Thanks. I’m leaning towards the sawzall method and cutting the side steps off.
